what is marriage?
Last week I explained to my daughter that she was no longer allowed to watch the Disney television show, “Good Luck Charlie.” She understood that we love gay people and appreciate the many good things that they may contribute to society, but we don’t like how Disney is openly trying to force children to accept…

every 20 years
How will the new creation compare with the old? Maybe something like this. Update: I just sold the old one to a fellow who lived in my hometown in Ohio, so that makes me happy. I don’t know the right way to say this, but now my wife is the person/thing I have lived with…

wrong on so many levels
I am pretty sure this isn’t funny, but it caught me in a weak moment. Hint: check the drapes. For you serious people, this comic is using humor to demonstrate how bad questions may lead to even worse answers.

what I learned about death, part 1
I promised I would share a few things I learned while researching The Last Enemy, and the first comes from Stephen Prothero’s book, God Is Not One. Prothero explained how each religion attempts to solve a different problem, and the unique problem that Christianity solves is death. Here is an excerpt from The Last Enemy:…
