Last night at the GRTS banquet we enjoyed this video put together by the students to honor Gary Meadors, who is retiring and taking his talents to South Beach. If you ever had Dr. Meadors in class, you will enjoy this. If you haven’t, then you probably won’t.
By the way, the soundtrack is Gary’s bluegrass band performing at this year’s seminary talent show. Of course, if we had known we were going to have bluegrass, we would have come up with another name for our show! I’m going to miss picking on that man.
I did not realize that Dr. Meadors was retiring until I read this post. Shows how out of touch I am. I really enjoyed the “reading the Bible in English is like kissing your wife through a veil” comment. I remember him saying the same thing while I was in seminary. I remember many of the other quotes as well.
Thanks for sharing the video. I too am thankful for Dr. Meadors’ ministry as a professor and what he meant to me personally as he challenged me in and out of the classroom.
Hey Thanks for sharing this!
Please pass along my best wishes.
I know how hard this must be for you. First LeBron and now Dr. Meadors! I wish Dr. Meadors could have had his own personal half hour show to unveil his decision.
Ah, such good memories. Watching this video made me miss all my great GRTS profs.
