My family just returned from a week in Myrtle Beach–a time to celebrate my parents’ golden anniversary with my three brothers and their families–and last night I unpacked enough to attend Forum on the Mound.
This is an exciting event put on by several area churches for college age youth at Fifth Third Ballpark. We meet in the right field pavilion for free pizza, wings, and soft drinks to sing and discuss important issues in a non-threatening environment. Next week we’ll be talking about faith and doubt. If you live in West Michigan, are between the ages of 18 and 28 and free for any of the next five Tuesday nights at 7:00, come out to the ball park and bring a friend. This is a particularly good event to bring someone who may not feel comfortable coming to church.
The structured time ends at 9:00, but those who want may hang around to talk more. Next week they’re planning a sing-a-long after 9:00, and the following week we’re going to walk over to A.J.’s and ride the go-karts. Kris Shear, if you’re reading this and have some time before your wedding, how about putting on your Crash costume and come run the bases with us? Maybe bring your T-shirt cannon?
